Like how it was easier to see the hamster maze tunnels on those maps.
Liked how Fort Koga was so awesome. Closest thing we have to it now is Fort Aspenwood. It isn't the same.
The great town of Kyhlo, so fancy. So very much content and maps they just trashed, they did. It's so sad...
It would be so, so, so awesome if the "Hard Mode" they're implementing is like the Veteran Missions -
"The Stone Summit Dwarves have raised Rotscale from the dead, and are preparing to invade Ascalon. Who will stop them? Price Rurik issues a challenge to the greatest warriors in all the land to form a party and put an end to Rotscale's terror."

Hehe...
Is it just me or was 'Gladiators Arena' the first name of Random Arena?
I think people have been getting confused with it saying 'Gladiator Arena' in the manual as it was previously Gladiators Arena.

Oh yea, remember when the pvp creation had the pigmail armor, and ascalon armor for wearing. All skills could be unlocked instantly.
Buying Droknar's Forge armor at Ventari's Refuge.
no voice-acting either, just text.

Hehe..YEAH..
That weekend where ALL the skills unlocked was cool. We seen a big variety of builds unlike modern day metas.
Can anyone remember how many beta weekends there were in total? I've lost count but there was definately atleast 5.

I think it was one at the end of every month, but I might not be remembering it correctly. Something like 4-6 pre-order events, I think, I think...

howdy. I played for a few of the beta weekends. I had a necro then and as soon as the game was officially released I remade him and still have the original char and name. Grant it I don't play him that much.
The end was really fun though. A bunch of us were running around trying to avoid the wurms, lol. Was funny how many of us managed to survive for a while.

Yeah I miss the beta days. I still have my beta box sitting around somewhere. I <3 my Chimeric Prism too. :P
Whenever I see Fort Koga it reminds me of when it was the only random arena there was. I wish they'd bring back the arena they took out of rotation though. I can't remember how we got there or anything, but it was really basic, like the training arenas. I remember somehow going on a massive (several hours long) win streak in that arena with a party of 4 rangers.
I remember when Hundred Blades wasn't an elite and there was a huge uproar when it was made an elite, and you couldn't cap it off that Charr right outside Piken Square any more. And when Soul Reaping gave 2 points of energy per attribute point. Yeaaah.
Fun times.

I've never once used my warpick, lol. Being that my original character was a necro it wasn't much use to me. And then after realizing that the requirement and the damage and mods on it were pretty much trash, I never bothered making a warrior to actually play with it. Was so dissapointed

I remember my first beta, when a mate and me joined gw. We were running through the explorable areas in ascalon, searching for a way out of the ruins. After hours we asked "How can we leave these ruins?", "Do the primary missions!", "What missions?". Yay for being a total noob, was really funny
The old city of ascalon with the large campfire in the middle, ah, the memories.
Unfortunately I lost msot of my screenshots. Learned the hard way, that guildwars can't count up to numbers larger than 999. After gw999.bmp it started again with gw001.bmp overwriting my precious betascreenies.

I got in ne day of the original beta test. cCouldn't pay more although I wanted to. I work offshore so that is the reason I didn't get in any more had to go to work. Although my time in GW has slacked off a lot (haven't actualy played for over a month now), I will wait and see what the next chapter is before I decide to stop all togethr.

I played in the last event before launch and fell in love with the monk. I remember getting Ressurect in post-searing and thinking, "I have become a god." Oh yeah... how quickly we learn.

Still around, though your name doesn't ring a bell. Mostly due to the fact that my guild liked hanging in the international district.
I think I started from the 2nd or 3rd beta. Those were fun times. Sitting at the computer for the entire weekend, forgoing sleep and eating biscuits at the comp to maximise playing time. Heady heady days.
My first character was of course a W/Mo. Though I didn't use mending. I had no clue how to! I did, however, get pats on the back for helping to keep our party alive with my crucial heals. I was such a badass Paladin yo~
Beta was great for grabbing names you wanted for characters. Occasionally I get people screaming at me in PM, "So you're the bastard who got that name!!!" <3 I still have a second pre-order account sitting on names I will use as more chapters appear.
p.s. I still miss the old interfaces. The new one just doesn't click for me.
Edit: Oh right, I forgot names are account specific now. Good thing I pulled out all the good ones to use on my main account already. So long 24hr timeouts. ;_;

Been with the game since WPE.
Here's a secret question: Any of you guys got a chance to "slip" (oops) into Korean BWE and be the first to try out the Pre-Searing Ascalon?
I did. XD

*sigh* only a couple of months after release. This is the first online game I have ever liked much at all (and obviously enjoy quite a bit since I'm still here - I can not think of any game I have more hours in). Best I can do is remember reading about betas.
I finally figured I'd bite the bullet after an uncle wanted to trade some computer work for a game (for whatever reason he didn't want to pay me money - I no longer remember why) - I figured I would at least get the nice picture of Eve on the cover and there were not any traditional single player games I wanted at the time.
